Hopi Ear Candling

Ear candling is an ancient therapy handed down by many civilisations. Believed to be brought to the modern world via the native North American Hopi Indians.

Hopi ear candles are hollow tubes made of cotton, soaked in beeswax, honey and herbs.

When the lit candle is placed gently into the ear the ingredients, which are impregnated into the cotton, vaporise and are drawn down the tube by a ‘chimney’ effect. The heated circulating vapours gently massage the eardrum. It is this action, which aids regulation of the pressure systems within the head.

You can enjoy a Hopi ear candling treatment as a stand-alone treatment, but is best combined with a sinus drainage massage afterwards.

Hopi ear candling can be useful for:

Excessive or compacted ear wax – they do not draw up compacted ear wax but do help to loosen it.

Snoring, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, glue ear, Patulous Eustachian Tube, colds, headaches and migraines, noises in the ear and tinnitus, neuralgia, Bell’s palsy, Menieres Disease, swimmer’s ear, flying problems and pressure regulation, labyrinthitis, loss of smell, relaxation.

Unfortunately, you cannot receive a treatment if the following apply:

Perforated eardrum, grommets or other drainage devices, inflammation of the outer ear, if you are undergoing specific medical supervision, undertaking a course of antibiotics, within the first trimester of pregnancy, cochlear implant, allergies to any of the ingredients
